    Practical Generative AI for Energy Professionals

    This is a five-day comprehensive training program designed to equip energy professionals with the knowledge and skills to utilize Generative AI (GenAI) effectively in their work. The course caters to both beginners and those with some prior knowledge of GenAI, and no prior Python experience is necessary.

    This training is designed to unlock the power of Generative AI (GenAI) in your organization. It provides hands-on experience with GenAI in the energy industry. The course is delivered using Python, making it technology agnostic. Participants will gain mastery of essential elements of GenAI, including large language models

     (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques. The training also includes a multi-agent GenAI workflow with a real-world project focused on Field Development Planning.

    Day 1

    Introduction to GenAI & Language Models

    • Lecture: Introduction to Generative AI and its applications in the energy sector.    
    • Understanding transformer-based models and their role in LLMs.    
    • Live Demo and Coding: Basic Python introduction and setting up LLMs in Python.    
    • Hands-On Project: Utilize LLMs for text analysis on oil and gas data.

    Day 2

    Prompt Engineering

    • Lecture: Fundamentals of prompt engineering, covering best practices and advanced techniques.    
    • Live Demo and Coding: Live coding session on basic and advanced prompt engineering tailored for oil and gas data.   
    • Hands-On Project: Apply prompt engineering techniques to extract insights from End of Well reports.
    Day 3

    Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Fine-Tuning

    • Lecture: Introduction to RAG and fine-tuning, their significance, and applications in the energy industry.    
    • Live Demo and Coding: A walkthrough of the RAG implementation with code snippets, integrating data for a dynamic chat experience.    
    • Live demonstration of fine-tuning a language model on domain-specific oil and gas data.

    Hands-On Project:

    • Project 1: Build a RAG-powered system to interact with End of Well reports data.    
    • Project 2: Develop a RAG-based chatbot to interact with one of SLB software - Intersect (IX) User Guide as an example

    Day 4

    Multi-Agent Systems

    • Lecture: Introduction to multi-agent systems and their role in GenAI applications for the energy sector.    
    • Live Coding: Build an agentic system using LLMs to conduct research on energy topics and generate a structured technical report.    
    • Hands-On Project: Implement a multi-agent workflow where agents collaborate to plan, estimate costs, and optimize resource allocation for a field development project.

    Day 5

    Scaling Solutions & No-Code AI Platforms

    • Lecture: No-Code AI platforms and their use in rapid prototyping and deployment of GenAI applications.    
    • Live Demo: Building a GenAI-Powered Workflow: Walkthrough using a No-Code platform to build and automate an AI-driven workflow.    
    • Deploying a Web App: Demonstrate how to create a simple web app (e.g., Dash) to showcase and deploy your AI-powered solution.    
    • Hands-On Project: Develop and Deploy a RAG-Powered Application: Build a RAG-based application using a local LLM, integrated into a Dash web app.    
    • Showcase your solution as a functional prototype
